AJE Earring Challenge Weeks 5 & 6

The following earrings were created for the AJE Earring Challenge for weeks 5 and 6.  Working along on this earring challenge has been a great creative boost, trying to challenge myself each week to come up with new, original and different designs. Sometimes the end results never make the published page, as some designs just didn't work well. Here are the two that I came up with the last two weeks.

The first pair consist of hand-cut  24g copper, etched, then colored with patina from Metal Me This

The second pair was designed around two ceramic charms from Janel Goolsby. Shades of purple crystal and seed beads were added, along with handmade earwires.

AJE Earring Challenge Weeks 3 & 4

The following earrings were created for the Art Jewelry Elements Earring Challenge, Weeks 3 and 4.  Pair 3 consisted of copper tear-drops and heart charms that were cut, stamped, antiqued then patinated with Gilders Paste, and put together with copper wire, headpins, and jumprings to include coral colored chip beads.

Pair number 4 was put together with gemstone encrusted wire-wrapped copper washers and forged charms that were also stamped and antiqued, then shaped with waves that reflect light and movement.

Since this was the first time that an actual stamp was used by me, I did learn that practice does improve stamped images! Now, what to do for next week? Stay tuned! In the mean time, check out what the other artists are making for their earrings at the Art jewelry Elements blog!
