Shelley Graham Turner of Fabric of My Life and Marlene Cupo of Amazing Designs is hosting the second round of Holiday Bling Blog Hop today! The object was to exchange something handmade with a partner to help get everyone into the Holiday Spirit. The first round was so much fun, that I decided to do it again. My partner is Miranda Ackerley of Mirandack Arts . Miranda is very talented, and her gift was as awesome as she is. But first, a tidbit or two about what I sent to Miranda!
After emailing a couple of times to talk about some ideas for gift-giving, I knew Miranda liked to wear earrings that were cool and unusual I am a huge fan of big, showy earrings, so after a little workshop time, I came up with several pairs that might fit the bill. Still working on photography skills, so bear with me please!
Since snowflakes remind me of the holidays, I etched some snowflakes on copper discs, added some of Lisa Liddy's Color Me This patina, put it together with blue freshwater coin pearls, moonstone, and copper ear wires. They are pretty long, but not as long as some of the others!
Oooh, another pair of long earrings! Gilder's paste was used to color the large metal leaf components, then garnets, czech glass, and ruby red teardrop crystals bring some Holiday Red color to these ultra-long earrings.
Unakite trangles with swarovski bicones and copper accents remind me of little Christmas trees!
Patina was applied to copper leaves, and green jade, swarovski crystals, unakite, and copper accents came together in these looooong earrings. The color green is a fabulous holiday color, and Miranda had told me that she liked green!
When Miranda's package arrived, I was so excited to open it, as this was my very first actual arrival of a package from a blog hop partner! I had told Miranda that I liked traditional Christmas decorations and colors, so could not wait to see what she sent me. I loved them!!! They were tucked away in a cute purse that I will use at my employer's holiday party this year.
I love these Christmas Tree earrings! I have been wearing them almost everyday. The picture is a little blurry, but they are just beautiful. They even have a garland! And the showstopper.......
Miranda made this beautiful necklace! It reminds me of the Snowflakes that I love so much! This necklace is so comfortable to wear, and I have received numerous compliments whenever it graces my neck. Thank you, Miranda, I love my beautiful jewelry. And thank you Shelley and Marlene for such a fun blog hop! I don't know about you, but I am definitely in the Holiday spirit!!! You want to see what everyone else made? Check the list below......

DeleteMiranda made such a gorgeous winter wonderland beaded necklace for you! I can imagine all the compliments :) I also love her Christmas tree earrings, complete with garland! How festive and fun. And what fun you had creating a wardrobe of earrings! They are all gorgeous, but my favorite are the unikite Christmas trees and the Metal Me This pair! Love how you incorporate gemstones into your designs. I am a gem geek (aka GemFairy ;) and so enjoy jewelry with genuine gems! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteFeliz Navidad Gina!

DeleteSo glad you love your stuff. I was partnered with Miranda for her advent swap, and I'm loving every day of it. You my dear a truly talented. All your earrings are gorgeous. I love the subtle nod to Christmas that actually makes it possible to wear them outside of the holiday season if you need a bit of a spirit boost. The green leaves are my favorite, because I love anything that reminds me of a garden. Happy holidays, and best wishes for a truly creative 2013.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginger. I am hoping Miranda can wear them at any time she wants too! Merry Christmas!
DeleteLooks like you both were 'winners' :-D Lovely pieces!
